A long way from the crowded beaches full of noisy teenagers, only an hours' drive from Ngurah Rai airport or Kuta you will find Ubud, an island within an island. Even though Bali's wet season is reasonably long, October to May, there's still plenty to experience in Ubud. Having the dense rainforest to explore in the wet rainy season, the cultural programs, and the art courses that are always available brings travelers here even when the beaches of Kuta and Sanur are relatively quiet.
